Children in Need 2025!

Staff and learerns came together last Friday, to raise funds for Children in Need!

It was a non-uniform day for all, with donations being made via our JustGiving page, so funds would go straight to the charity.

The School Council worked in conjunction with the Food Tech department, and put together a fantastic cake sale! Staff and learners got creative, and showed off their baking skills, which were greatly appreciated; the queues were outside the door of Block 3, with everyone keen to get their hands on some tasty treats!

Lunch time saw the return of the much anticipated Staff vs Students sports competition, with the staff team taking on learners from Years 7 to 11 in a game of netball. As always, the matches were highly competitive and contested…though it may have helped if some of the players understood the rules!

Between the bake sale, netball, and non-uniform, the school has raised £448 so far, for Children in Need! Thanks to all who gave so generously. Our JustGiving page will remain active until the end of this week, so if you’d like to donate, you can do so here.

PARCH Show Racism the Red Card!

Pencoed turned red shortly before half term, with staff and students showing their support for the Show Racism the Red Card initiative.

Our PARCH (Pencoed Anti-Racist CHampions) led the way, holding a bake-off cake sale, which raised a fantastic £185 for the cause!

In addition, we are also very proud to announce that Mrs Davies and the PARCH group have been recognised as finalists in the Mastering Diversity Awards 2025!

Led by learners, PARCh aim to make the school environment more inclusive, and to celebrate diversity.
