It was a great start to the half term for two of our pupils this week, who received newly reconditioned bikes, courtesy of Parc’s Bike Zone.
Parc’s Bike Zone is run in conjunction with the Invisible Walls scheme, and collect unused and unloved bikes from the local community. These are then serviced, repaired and restored by prisoners in the Bicycle Maintenance Workshop. The project supports the prisoners working towards their City and Guilds Entry Level 3 and Level 1 qualifications, who are proud to donate the bikes to children in the local area.
Two of our keen cyclists were over the moon to get their new set of wheels, and we’re grateful to Parc Prison for enabling us to provide the boys with more safe and suitable equipment to pursue their hobby.
