Merry Christmas!

It’s the end of a very busy term!

Firstly, well done to all of our new Year 7 learners, who have made such a fantastic start to their time here at Pencoed Comprehensive. Your enthusiasm and hard work has been comended by so many staff, you should be very proud of yourselves!

Well done to those Year 11 learners who sat exams in November; we hope you get the results you deserve. Good luck to those sitting exams in January, too!

Year 9 have begun the process of selecting their options for study at GCSE, and will be making their final choices after Christmas.

All years have been involved in a whole range of sporting successes, as you can see below in the PE Newsletter!

The last couple of weeks have been a flurry of festive activity, starting with Christmas Dinner on 11th December. Many thanks to our wonderful canteen staff for their hard work!

Then, of course, was our annual Christmas Fayre. Stalls are run by 6th Form learners, as part of their Welsh Bacc qualification, with each team raising funds for a different charity. Learners from Years 7-11 have the chance to visit throughout the day, and enjoy the treats and activities on offer. Thanks to their support, over £1500 was raised for a variety of charities!

The annual Carol Service was as memorable as ever, with some show-stopping performances, and inspiring speeches delivered by our learners. Some of the learners also kindly agreed to perform at the end of year assemblies. We can’t wait to see what you do next year!

Finally, it wouldn’t be a true Pencoed Christmas without our ‘competitive’ version of the 12 Days of Christmas! Nadolig Llawen!

We look foward to welcoming learners back to school in the New Year, on Monday 6th January 2025.
