Children in Need 2024

On Friday 15th November, our school will be fundraising for Children in Need. This is our nominated charity however this year is more special for us as a school community. A previous Pencoed Comprehensive learner, Ethan, has been selected as one of the “Challenge Squad” and you may have had the privilege of watching and listening to Ethan on The One Show in recent weeks. As a school, we want to show our support to Ethan and the Children in Need charity and have planned events during the day which are outlined below:
- Friday 15th November will be a non-school uniform day. If any learners have Children in Need t-shirts, badges or Pudsey ears, they are more than welcome to wear them. We would appreciate a donation of your choosing, and this can be contributed via our JustGiving page or by bringing cash on the day. We do reiterate that we expect learners to be wearing appropriate clothing to ensure that they are ready, respectful and safe in their learning.
- Every year, our creative learners produce an outline of Pudsey using small change coins. Again, if you wish to contribute to this, we would very much appreciate it.
- During the week building up to the day and during the lunch hour, there will be events organised by our school council and led by Miss Page.
- Face painting will be available for a small cost during break and lunch – please email admin@pencoedcs.bridgend.cymru if you would not want your child to engage in this.
All monies raised will be donated to Children in Need on behalf of the school. If you wish to read more about Ethan and other members of the Children in Need Challenge Squad, click here.
