Welcome to this year’s Virtual Open Evening, for pupils in, and parents and carers of, Years 5 and 6. The playlist of videos below aims to provide you with key information, and introduce you to some of our staff.
Take a brief tour through the school, and get a feel for the layout, and the different facilities on offer – including specialist IT suites, sports pitches, and performance spaces. Each subject is housed within a particular block, which makes finding your way around much easier!
Next, our Progress and Wellbeing Leader for Year 7, and head of our transition programme, Mrs Davies, gives a brief overview of what you can expect from the transition process, and how we seek to look after our pupils wellbeing.
Take a break from all the information, and enjoy watching some highlights from the last few years at Pencoed Comprehensive – including sporting competition finals, Eisteddfodau, results days and more. Life at Pencoed Comprehensive offers a wealth of experience to pupils, both inside and outside of the classroom.
Mrs McMahon, our ALNCo is on hand to answer the most common questions pupils with additional learning needs may have, as well as giving you a glimpse into the support on offer.
Finally, at the end of last academic year, we asked the then Year 7s to tackle some of the ‘monster questions’ most frequently asked by Year 6 pupils about comprehensive life – this is your chance to hear it from the pupils themselves!
